Epic Vegan Charcuterie Board

Epic Vegan Charcuterie Board

Happy Sunday wanderers and welcome back to another blogpost. Today I will be detailing for you the vegan cheeses and meat products I used to create this epic vegan charcuterie board. Since going vegan more than four years ago, I have yet to make a vegan version of this classic party platter. It is a delicious and decadent treat perfect for a large party or a wine night in with the girls.

The only thing on the platter that wasn’t ready-made was the vegan baked brie. After seeing a recipe video for baked brie, I couldn’t get the idea out of my head that I wanted to make a vegan version. I used Jule’s truffle cashew brie and topped it with apricot jam and chopped pecans. Ideally, I would have liked to bake it using vegan filo dough, but the ones I found were sold frozen and would have taken hours to thaw. Instead, I opted to get creative and wrapped the cheese in two Nasoya egg roll wraps. I made sure the egg roll wraps were well coated in oil. I baked the brie at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes, flipping the brie halfway through.

The rest of the products we used to create the charcuterie board were ready made, package to plate. Most of this shopping list can be accomplished at Whole Foods alone. Below I have listed the products and the prices.

The total cost of all of the products ended up being $101.27! I would highly recommend sharing the cost with some friends like I did. As vegans, charcuterie boards are not an indulgence we typically get to enjoy. Why not treat yourself and some friends for a special occasion? I personally think it’s great that there are so many vegan cheeses and meats on the markets these days.

That being said, there are countless ways to make this more economical. By omitting the vegan baked brie and marcona almonds, you can bring the price down to $60.05.

Personally, if I made it again, I would skip the on pesto and the herb & garlic spread. They were good, but did not quite fit in with the flavor profile of the rest of the board. Skipping these items would bring the price down to $83.79.

It is also important to note that we made a huge platter and had lots of ingredients to spare. I think I’ll be eating gourmet vegan grilled cheese sandwiches for the next week! You can always use fruits, nuts, and crackers that you already have at home to make for a cheaper shopping trip. A medium to small sized vegan cheese board can be easily accomplished for $30-$50.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that it was helpful!
