Viori Beauty Product Review

Viori Beauty Product Review

Happy Sunday wanderers and welcome back to another blogpost. About a month ago I introduced you all to a product line called Viori Beauty over on my Instagram page. The company is very well aligned with my values and that is why I am happy to share the products with my readers.

The products are vegan, eco-friendly, and the company also has an amazing mission. The company is woman owned and majorly inspired by the culture of the Red Yao tribe of the Longsheng Valley in China. The local women of this tribe are well known for their healthy long hair that does not go gray with age. Their number one hair secret? Rice water!

Viori Beauty makes eco-friendly shampoo and conditioner bars with rice water sourced from the Longsheng Valley to stimulate the economy in this remote village. The company also donates 5% of their profits back to that community as well. To learn more about Viori’s mission watch this video!

Viori Beauty was kind enough to send me their products so I could test them out for you all. I was very impressed with the plastic free, yet still gorgeous packaging. I filmed an unboxing video on IGTV where I displayed the products and give my first impressions. I was sent a shampoo bar, a conditioner bar, and a bamboo bar holder for each.

Now that I have been testing these products for a month’s time I feel confident I can provide an honest review. Overall, are these products worth it? Yes! I think they are great and are very reasonably priced for how long they last. I was my hair every third day and after a month of use (about 10 washes) I still have at least half, if not more, of each bar left.

As far as quality and effectiveness they I think they meet the standards of a regular shampoo and conditioner. I was sceptic about the conditioner bar because I could not imagine how conditioner could be solid. I was worried it would suds up similarly to a two-in-one shampoo/conditioner which I do not like at all. I was pleasantly surprised that that was not the case. When you work the conditioner bar into your hands and hair it slides off in a traditional conditioning cream like consistency.

I think these products are great for travelers such as myself. They could be easily brought along on camping adventures and also could be brought through airport security because they are solid! They are also more compact than traditional shampoo and conditioners, therefore will take up less room in your pack.

The only negative I have found is that these products take a little more time to work with than the traditional shampoo and conditioner. You wont get that instant gratification of squeezing the product right out of the bottle and into your hand. You need to take an extra few minutes to truly work these products into your hair and scalp. I personally don’t mind this because it makes the whole process more of a self care moment, but if you are always in a rush maybe they are not for you.

Overall, I would definitely repurchase these! They smell incredible and the quality is on par with traditional hair care products. I still use separate leave in conditioner and heat protectant products, but I would love to see Viori curate those products over time! In my opinion the quality of Viori matches but does not exceed that of traditional shampoo and conditioners. That being said, the factors that would make me choose Viori are the eco-friendly initiatives, the fact that everything is vegan, and the company’s admirable mission.

What do you think? Would you give these a try?

Wander often & wonder always,
