Vegan Eats in Ogunquit Maine

Vegan Eats in Ogunquit Maine

Happy Sunday wanderers and welcome back to another post. Today I am going to share with you what vegan finds I discovered on my recent trip to Ogunquit, Maine. We also ventured into Portland for a day. Enjoy!

Nothing says fall quite like these pumpkin cinnamon rolls I got from Trader Joes. They made for a quintessential breakfast on a fall trip in New England. I would highly recommend grabbing some quickly, as I believe they are seasonal.

One of the best finds of the trip was Bread & Roses Café. They had a decent range of vegan bakery items, coffees, and this delicious blueberry lemonade. Maine is famous for their blueberries and you will find the fruit is widely incorporated into food and beverage offerings. I got the raspberry twist and the worker was kind enough to throw in an extra because the first one broke.

For a drink we stopped at Coastal Wine Ogunquit. Their food menu was not extensive and was mainly centered around cheese plates. I don’t recall seeing any vegan food options besides perhaps a bowl of mixed nuts.

For an amazing dinner, stop by Food For Thought. The menu is seemingly filled with the creative musings of someone who had the munchies. I mean come on donut grilled cheese? Amazing! Though that is not one of their vegan options they did have a vegan big mac and a vegan bolognese. Both are made with Impossible meat. I had the big mac, fries, and some local brews. It was my favorite dinner of the trip!

Another lovely café we stopped by was The Beach Basket. I had avocado toast and an iced almond milk chai. The olive oil and chili flakes gave the avocado toast the perfect flavor and the drink was amazing as well!

On a day trip to Portland, I had to indulge in some vegan ice cream. I picked up the vegan maple walnut from Mount Desert Island Ice Cream. I have to say I was not overly impressed. Something about the texture was off, but perhaps I caught them on an off day. I would be willing to give them another shot. The good news is they keep multiple vegan flavors on rotation. You can see the menu here.

There were many other restaurants in Ogunquit that offered vegan options but some of them were closed for the season and we just did not have the time to check them all out. If you make it to Ogunquit, The Front Porch, Treehouse Taqueria, Scoop Shack, and Loveshack Juicery were all on my list!

I hope you found this post interesting or helpful!

Wander often & wonder always!
