The Good Life Barbados
The Good Life Café is a must stop for anyone visiting Barbados. It is just a short $1 van ride away from Bridgetown and has amazing vegan options. I found on Happy Cow that it had many amazing reviews claiming it was the best vegan option on the island so naturally I had to go.

Inside the vibe is very nice and relaxed. The staff is super friendly, sweet and helpful. Our waitress helped me decide what to get as I was overwhelmed with the options. It's not often as a vegan you can order anything on the menu. They also have very good free Wi-Fi which may be valuable to you if you are traveling.

They have amazing plant based cuisine which includes wraps, pitas, salads, noodles, rice and curry options. They also have hemp smoothies, shakes, espresso for lattes or cappuccinos and alcoholic options. Personally I think the smoothies are great for morning, wraps and salads are good for lunch, and I would suggest a noodle or rice dish for dinner. Lucky that they are open long hours.
Chocolate hemp smoothie $6 USD.
Soy latte $5 USD.
The first time we ate here I got the barbecue "chickin" wrap. Which features soy protein and fresh local vegetables. Leo got the deluxe veggie wrap. With my wrap I enjoyed an iced soy latte and a chocolate hemp shake. The next time we dined at the Good Life I tried their soba noodle salad and Leo got the curried tofu for a lovely dinner.

Asian soba noodle salad $13 USD.
Personally I enjoyed everything I had here. The barbecue wrap and the soba noodle salad were great picks for my pallet. Leo said he preferred his wrap to the tofu curry probably because he doesn't eat tofu regularly, but still the meals are non-vegan approved. I thought the curry was really nice. The hemp shake was good, but definitely a new taste for me! One negative is that their chocolate cake was a little dry, but this is typical of vegan cakes, it was still tasty. Im sad that both times I went they were out of vegan cheesecake, I'll be back to try it someday.

Coconut tofu curry $14 USD.
In a country where recycling plastic is not highly implemented and styrofoam is used almost everywhere it is nice that eco-style cafés are thriving. The restaurant is owned by two local Rasta men. I was hoping to meet them but they weren't there at the same times I was. Judging from their restaurant and staff they must be pretty awesome people.

We decided to walk back to Bridgetown from here and found a few other stops along the way with vegan options such as acia bowls and even some sweets and treats. I will be doing another blogpost about all the vegan food I found in Barbados coming up soon :)
As always I hope you enjoyed this post.
Wander often & wonder always,
